Landscaping

Sundolitt expanded polystyrene blocks provide an ideal and cost-effective basis for both hard and soft landscaping

Sundolitt EPS blocks impose much lower load pressures on the subsoil and any underlying services, than traditional fill materials, yet have exceptional strength and load-bearing capacity.

They are also popularly used in the design of corporate and domestic rooftop gardens, where weight is a key issue. In such applications, the EPS will also provide enhanced insulation for the property, reducing heat loss and, therefore, energy consumption.

Advantages of using Sundolitt EPS blocks:
  • Reduced pressure on subsoil and any underlying services
  • EPS blocks weigh around 1% of the weight of traditional fill materials
  • Robust, yet lightweight and easy-to-position without heavy lifting equipment
  • Economical & practical alternative to piled construction
  • Established long-term strength and performance
  • High load-bearing capacity
  • EPS blocks do not require to be compacted and do not lose any volume to compaction (as some other lightweight fill materials do)
  • Easy-to-cut on site, no special equipment required
  • No protective clothing or masks required
  • Rot-proof and extremely durable in wet conditions
  • Environmentally friendly - CFC & HCFC free
  • Do not support fungal, bacteriological or animal growth
  • Non-toxic and inert
  • Very cost-effective
